MICROSOFT HAS SPOKEN! After a tedious search for a new CEO Satya Nadella moves up from head of Microsoft cloud and enterprise business becoming Microsofts’ third CEO in 39 years. More of the changes is Bill Gates is stepping down as chairman of the board and former IBMer with cloud experience John Thompson will be filling his shoes effective immediately.

With a not often seen back stepping Microsoft has almost recognized customer dissatisfaction about Microsoft ending it’s 12 year XP support on April 8, 2014. Microsoft has thrown a reconciliatory bone to consumers saying it will continue to deliver the “signatures” that are used to identify and ward off malware for XP systems through July 14, 2015 according to a recent Microsoft Malware Protection Center blog post.

Apple has pretty much been immune to viruses and hackers over the years from a purely numeric stand point. Traditionally Apple has not been in the work place opening itself for a reason to be hacked.

Yahoo has had it happen again! For the last several days advertising servers have been serving out all sorts of malware to hundreds of thousands of users. The culprits simply submitted the malware in ordinary advertising which enables it to pass by the security filtering process.

Lots going on with Microsoft as they try to reinvent themselves from strictly software to something a little more substantial ‘stay in the game’ position. Their goal, we think, is competing with Apple and the Android platform, comes to mind with their 7.1 Billion dollar purchase of Nokia this week.

Why do we have to move so dang fast I thought, just about the time I get used to something they do a total change. Non- IT folks really have a lot of other things to be focused on other than taking the time to learn a new platform.

Is Bob Mansfield the new mystery millionaire from Apple? Why has his name mysteriously gone missing from the executive list on Apples’ website? Apple has a way of enticing interest in the company, it’s kinda like being addicted to the British Crowns’ new Heir, people want to know what’s going on!
